Year of the New Testament in the Lectio Bible
This year, we’re reading through the New Testament using the Lectio Bible.
What is the Lectio Bible?
The Lectio Bible is a specially formatted Bible designed for slow, prayerful, distraction-free reading. It’s inspired by the ancient Christian practice of Lectio Divina (Divine Reading)—reading Scripture for spiritual formation, not just information.
Unlike most Bibles, the Lectio Bible removes chapter and verse numbers, subheadings, and footnotes, presenting Scripture in a single column with generous spacing. This helps you stay with the text’s natural flow, listen more deeply, and make room to hear God’s voice—moving toward a more meditative communion with Scripture.
Why read this way?
The digital age trains us to read quickly and move on. But Scripture was given as a library meant for slow, prayerful reflection, so God’s thoughts can inhabit our minds more completely.
A daily invitation
Start your day by tuning in to God’s voice—listening for His guidance through Scripture over your life. Then act on the guidance you receive.
