Confirmation at Ardmore First Methodist | Starting January 2026

Dear Parents,

Confirmation for our Youth Department will begin in January 2026, and we’re excited to invite your student to participate (if he or she chooses). Confirmation is an important milestone in your child’s spiritual journey, and we are grateful to offer this opportunity at Ardmore First Methodist for students 8th grade and up.

Beginning in January, your child is invited to join our Confirmation program to deepen their faith and prepare for a life of discipleship, Christian service, and faithful obedience to Jesus.

What is Confirmation?

Confirmation is a time for young people to explore and affirm their Christian faith. It’s a chance to grow in their understanding of God’s Word and to choose to follow Jesus more intentionally.

Our Confirmation program is designed specifically for 8th graders, but older youth are welcome to participate as well. Confirmation is not required, but it is a valuable opportunity for students who are ready to take the next step in their faith journey.

Who Leads Confirmation?

Your child will be guided by our pastoral staff, including:

We believe Confirmation is not just a routine event, but a transformational experience empowered by the Holy Spirit. We pray your child will grow in their faith and be equipped for a lifetime of discipleship and service.

How Can You Get Involved?

1) Attend the Mandatory Student/Parent Meeting

Date: Wednesday, January 7
Time: 7:15 PM (immediately following Youth Service)
Location: Youth Room

At this meeting, we’ll provide essential resources for parents and share how you can support your child throughout the Confirmation journey.

2) Register Your Student

3) Have a Conversation About Faith

Before Confirmation begins, we encourage you to talk with your child about their personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Have they accepted Him as their Savior?
Are they still exploring what it means to follow Christ?

If you’d like support, we can provide a Salvation Conversation Guide to help you talk through faith, salvation, and the commitment to follow Jesus. Wherever your child is in their faith journey, we’re here to help.

4) Set Aside Confirmation Dates

Confirmation sessions will be held during the Sunday School hour:
Sundays, 10:00–11:00 AM | Youth Room

We understand conflicts may arise, and we will make accommodations as needed.
