Job Summary
The Preschool Director leads and oversees the church’s Preschool ministry, serving children from birth through Pre-K. The Preschool exists to provide a high-quality education in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where the love of Christ is taught and experienced. The Director provides spiritual, administrative, and educational leadership; supports staff development; and ensures faithful execution of the Preschool’s mission in partnership with parents, church staff, and the congregation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Program Oversight

Plan, organize, direct, and supervise all Preschool programs and operations

Foster positive relationships among staff, parents, and the church community

Maintain accessibility during Preschool hours (7:15 a.m.–5:15 p.m.) and be on-call for time-sensitive evening needs

Promote a cooperative, parent-participation school environment
Program Development

Maintain and develop developmentally appropriate curriculum

Remain current with early childhood education best practices and training

Develop long-term growth plans for the Preschool

Establish and enforce policies consistent with the Preschool Parent Handbook

Attend and seek out relevant training and conferences
Staff Supervision & Employee Relations

Supervise, train, evaluate, and mentor Preschool staff

Oversee lesson planning and classroom environments

Coordinate with Children’s Ministry staff on chapel curriculum and shared spaces

Schedule staffing, substitutes, absences, and payroll adjustments

Conduct annual staff evaluations

Recruit and hire staff as needed

Assist in classrooms and substitute when necessary
Administration & Compliance

Manage daily Preschool operations and scheduling

Create the annual Preschool Academic Calendar

Ensure compliance with OKDHS licensing, Oklahoma Professional Development Registry, and all applicable regulations

Serve as primary contact for licensing and regulatory agencies

Implement health, safety, and emergency procedures

Maintain accurate enrollment, health, and administrative records
Fiscal Responsibilities

Prepare and manage the Preschool budget in collaboration with the Church Business Administrator

Oversee tuition billing, collections, and financial reporting

Ensure compliance with church financial policies

Supervise fundraising efforts

Manage payroll approvals and new hire paperwork

Seek and secure grants and additional funding sources
Communication & Church Leadership

Build strong relationships with parents, church staff, committees, and congregation

Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, social media, and direct correspondence

Attend church meetings as needed

Collaborate with Children’s Ministry to ensure continuity in biblical teaching
Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred (Early Childhood Education strongly preferred)

OR 5 years leadership/head teacher experience in a preschool setting

OR Associate’s degree with 3 years leadership/head teacher experience

Must meet and maintain Oklahoma Director Credential licensing requirements

Prior staff supervision experience required

Active Christian faith required; church membership appreciated

Position: Youth Ministry Director

Purpose
First Methodist Church of Ardmore is deeply committed to nurturing and discipling students in grades 6–12. We believe youth are a vital and active part of the church, and we seek to partner with parents to help students develop a deep, personal, and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our youth ministry is rooted in the eight foundations of discipleship: rescue, knowledge, kingdom, outreach, apologetics, worship, community, and identity. As students prepare for the next stages of life, our goal is to equip them with a faith that is strong, grounded, and unshakable.
Position Summary
The Youth Ministry Director provides spiritual leadership, vision, and oversight for the church’s middle school and high school ministries. This role involves recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers; teaching and discipling students; and creating meaningful programs that integrate youth into the worship, fellowship, mission, and ministry life of First Methodist Church Ardmore.
The Youth Ministry Director works collaboratively with the Family Ministry Director, Associate Pastor, program staff, and the Youth Ministry Advisory Board to establish a vibrant, Christ-centered youth ministry that serves both students and their families.
General Expectations

Position: Audio-Visual Director
Church Overview
First Methodist Church is a vibrant congregation of approximately 500 regular attenders in Ardmore, Oklahoma. We offer both contemporary and traditional worship services and maintain an actively used campus that operates seven days a week with weekday and evening ministry activities.
Position Purpose
Under the direction of the Senior and/or Associate Pastor, the Audio-Visual Director ensures that worship services and church events across all facilities utilize technology efficiently, effectively, and strategically to enhance the experience of all who attend.
Position Summary
Worshiping God with all that we have is central to every role at First Methodist Church. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Audio-Visual Director sets the spiritual tone for the A/V Ministry, modeling ownership,, humility, and excellence.
This role oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Audio-Visual Ministry, including audio, lighting, video, and livestream production. The Audio-Visual Director supports the mission of First Methodist Church by empowering volunteers to serve both spiritually and technically in worship.
Success in This Role
While expertise in audio, lighting, and video production is essential, the primary emphasis of this position is developing and empowering others. The Audio-Visual Director will recruit and train volunteers to staff necessary positions and be prepared to step in for troubleshooting, training, and coverage as needed.
Schedule
This position may be part-time or full-time depending on experience and willingness to learn additional production or technical skills.
Typical hours include:
• Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Additional hours for rehearsals and scheduled events
Special events such as weddings, funerals, Holy Week services, and Christmas Eve services may require additional hours or schedule adjustments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Worship Services and Event A/V Support
Provide reliable audio-visual support for all worship services and church events, including:

Audio mixing, monitor mixing, and audio recording (Midas M32 series console)

Lighting production (Vista EX lighting console)

Video switching with multiple cameras (Roland video switcher)

Video recording and livestream production
-
Presentation software (ProPresenter and PowerPoint)

Stage preparation for rehearsals, services, and events
Maintain clear communication with pastors, the Director of Music & Worship, ministry leaders, and event coordinators to support A/V needs.
Long-Term Goal: Ensure every worship service and event is vibrant, distraction-free, and technically well supported.
2. Volunteer Leadership and Development

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Previous experience as an Audio-Visual Director or similar role in a church with 400+ weekly attendance preferred
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will regularly stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
