At First Methodist Ardmore, we're always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Here's what you can expect when you come to either our 9:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service. Our 9:00 am service is a traditional service, and our 11:05 am is a contemporary service. We have Sunday School at 10:00 am for adults, children and youth. Childcare is available during the entire 9:00 am – 12:00 time period. Dedicated staff, classrooms, and activities are part of our children’s program. Be sure to hang around before and after the service and join us for coffee. You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
Where do I park?
Our church is located at 501 W. Main St. There is an entrance on Main street but the primary entrance is our East door, on E ST SW facing 1NB. Parking lots are on the sides of the building at the East (shared lot with 1NB) and West sides of the church (by the playground area), as well as across the street at our Colvert Ministry Center.
If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, feel free to use one of the spots designated along the East side of the street closest to the East door. We like to keep them free for visitors and people who need assistance. We have an elevator at street level on the East entrance door that can take you to all the locations in the classrooms, the Sanctuary, and the upper floors. We also have a live-stream classroom if your mobility prohibits you from attending service in the Sanctuary.
What to wear?
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both. The sanctuary is kept at a comfortable temperature, but we suggest a light sweater if you tend to get cold.
May we help you?
When you walk in, please come to the Welcome Desk in the lobby and find one of our greeters and introduce yourself. We have a sign- in- kiosk at the Welcome Desk to help us serve you better. Door greeters and hospitality volunteers are stationed at the doors and Welcome Desk, and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the nursery and children’s rooms and give you information about Sunday school rooms. Our greeters can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary, and fellowship areas. If you have any questions about the service itself, the greeters can provide helpful answers.
